Robert A. WeaverBack to
Entrepreneur and Philanthropist
Robert (Bob) Weaver grew up in Fisher, IL, and it was there he borrowed the money to purchase his first Angus heifer at age 12. He together with his wife Virginia purchased what would become Weaver Angus Farm in Peoria in 1948. On the principals of hard work, integrity, and vision he built Weaver Enterprises into a successful, diversified family business.
In 1964 Weaver took a pivotal step in establishing the business as he and Colonel Harlan Sanders agreed to a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise partnership over a handshake. Throughout the years, the KFC franchises grew to include more than twenty stores in three states.
From Weaver’s dream at 12 years of age to exhibit Angus cattle, Weaver Angus Farm grew into an internationally respected source of Angus genetics and Angus promotion. From a humble farmer to the owner of a prominent business, Bob Weaver was truly able to build and live the American Dream.
