Mike Dalton was born in International Falls, Minnesota. He grew up in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada with his parents and five siblings. At the age of 14, his parents gave him the opportunity to stay in the United States and pursue his education and hockey dreams. Because of this opportunity, Mike received a full hockey scholarship to attend the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. During his college career, Mike was the captain of the hockey team. His senior year, the team won the National Championship, and Mike was the school’s first All American. After college, Mike sold life insurance and then moved into pharmaceutical sales. Later, Mike joined RLI Insurance Company as a Sales Representative, quickly moved to a District Sales Manager position and then served as the President of the Canadian Subsidiary division in Toronto, Canada. Mike then accepted a position as the President of RLI’s Ophthalmic division and moved to Peoria, IL. Mike was instrumental in the merger of RLI Vision into Maui Jim sunglasses where he became and still holds the position of President and Chief Operations Officer. As President and COO, Mike oversees all global operations for the company, including operations in over 100 international markets. Mike has served as the President of the Sunglass Association of America and as a Board Member in other industry organizations. Mike is married to Tammy Dalton and they have two fun-loving dogs – Kobi and Guido. In his free time, Mike enjoys running, golfing, hiking, backpacking and canoeing in the remote Canadian wilderness with his wife. Mike and Tammy enjoy spending time at their Canadian lake house, Rudge Lake and also at their home in Scottsdale, AZ surrounded by family and friends. Mike has two successful grown children, Ashley Vickers and Alex Dalton and one granddaughter, Everly.
