A Peoria native, Chuck Weaver grew up on his family farm and spent his youth actively involved in the family Angus-cattle operation. Chuck is a graduate of Dunlap High School and Bradley University. He obtained his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. Chuck practiced law before going to work for Weaver Enterprises as the Director of Operations. He supervised the company’s 500 employees and multiple Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises before taking over as President of Weaver Enterprises in 1992.

He has been active as an investor or operating partner in over 50 LLCs in the Peoria area, focusing on creating job opportunities. He served as an At-Large Peoria City Council Member from 2011 to 2015 at which time he was elected as a state senator for the 37th Senate District. Senator Weaver is founding chairman of Central Illinois Angels and established Leaders Change Peoria. Chuck and his wife, Laurie, are enthusiastic fundraisers for a number of central Illinois youth charities. Chuck was named the Boys Scouts of America, Boyce Council, 2014 Distinguished Citizen.

Senator Weaver is an avid horseman and skier and is passionate about morning mentor walks. He and Laurie are the proud parents of Jesse, Travis, Annie and her husband Mark Bell. The Weavers welcomed their first grandson, Will Bell, in April 2015.  Number two is on the way. They have attended Northwoods Community Church for more than 20 years.
