Girish Seshagiri

Girish Seshagiri founded AIS in Peoria in 1986, to create high wage, high technology jobs in the heartland by making quality the number one goal.  Under Girish’s leadership, AIS received the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society Software Process Achievement Award which is similar to the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for performance excellence. AIS is one of only 25 U.S. Companies to achieve the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 5 quality certification.  AIS offers unprecedented lifetime warranty against software defects. Girish’s constancy of purpose has earned AIS global reputation for agility, quality, innovation and joy in work.

AIS partnered with Illinois State University during 1997-2001 and innovated InfoTech, an accelerated training/mentoring program to address the skills shortage for the Year 2000 (Y2K) programming problem.  The initiative transitioned more than 120 under-employed and dislocated workers to entry level programming jobs that paid middle class wages with benefits.

Girish is a globally recognized subject matter expert and thought leader in the field of software engineering, with emphasis on developing software that is secure from cyber attacks. AIS is a winner of the 2013 U.S. Government Information Security Leadership Award (GISLA). AIS is providing leadership for a community economic development initiative to establish the first-in-the-nation Central Illinois Regional Center of Excellence for Secure Software. The goal is to create 500 middle class jobs in secure software production in Central Illinois during 2014-2016.
