Retired Group President
Caterpillar

Ed Rapp retired from Caterpillar Inc. in July 2016. Prior to his retirement, Ed was a Caterpillar Group President. During his 37-year career with the company, he lived and worked around the world including assignments in the U.S., Africa, Europe and Asia. He was an officer of the company for more than 15 years, spending the last 9 years as a member of the Caterpillar Executive Office.

Ed proudly hails from Pilot Grove, Missouri and is one of 7 kids. He and his wife Ann have always placed a priority on maintaining balance in their life, and Ed openly promoted work-life balance throughout his career. They also gave back to the communities where they lived and worked, with a particular focus on Junior Achievement and Easter Seals.

Ed founded the Stay Strong vs. ALS Donor Advised Fund that invests in institutions focused on finding a cure and improving assistive devices for ALS patients. He also serves on the Executive Committee of ALS Finding a Cure. In addition, Ed is a member of the FM Global and AbbVie board of directors and serves on the Strategic Development Board for the University of Missouri Business School.

Ed has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree in finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He and Ann now reside in Cary, North Carolina near their children and grandson.
